Since 1996, Whitsunday is the day of Karneval der Kulturen Parade in Berlin.
Thousands fill the streets of Kreuzberg between Hermannplatz and Möckernbrücke. Karneval der Kulturen Street Parade is the biggest street Festival in Berlin.
Some dance, others watch. And, of course, there are those who take fotos. Lots of fotos are being taken…
I decided myself, after a long absence, to join again those who take lots of fotos. But, instead of staying the whole afternoon, my visit to the Karneval der Kulturen was a short one.
Coming from Wedding with the Underground, I arrived at the U-Bahn Station Südstern, walked with the camera glued to my face through a Street (Gneisenaustraße) full of people and loud music and about 1 hour later turned left at Zossener Straße, leaving the party behind.
Here in the quiet streets near Tempelhofer Feld I found the U-Bahn Station Platz der Luftbrücke, where I took the train back to Wedding.
Wedding looked strangely empty on this sunny Sunday afternoon .
